NEW DELHI: Continuing his announcements on examination reforms, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the government has constituted a high-powered task force to be led by Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani.Also Read: PM Modi returns with message to students, announces Nandan Nilekani-led task force on exam reforms”HIGH-POWERED TASK FORCE on examination reforms under the leadership of Shri Nandan Nilekani constituted,” PM Modi said in a video message on X, a day after the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a satirical platform, called off its 37-day-long agitation following the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET (UG) question paper leak.Led by CJP, thousands of students had been on an indefinite sit-in in Delhi since June 21, demanding the resignation or removal of Pradhan and broader reforms in the education sector.

In January 2023, he was appointed as the co-chair of the “G20 Task Force on Digital Public Infrastructure for Economic Transformation, Financial Inclusion, and Development.”Born in Bengaluru, Nilekani, 71, graduated from IIT Bombay in 1978. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian honour, in 2006. Time magazine named him among the world’s 100 most influential people in 2006 and 2009, and included him in its 2024 list of the 100 Most Influential People in AI.Nilekani has also authored or co-authored three books.
