NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday reacted to Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, saying the BJP considers the country, youth and students more important than any position while reaffirming the Modi government’s commitment to reforms against paper leaks.In a post on X, Shah said, “For BJP workers, the country, our youth, and students are far more important than any position. Today, the resignation of Union Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan ji from his post exemplifies this very principle.”Shah further added that the government respected the sentiments of students and remained committed to introducing reforms to prevent paper leaks, while expressing confidence that those responsible would be punished and justice would be ensured for NEET aspirants.

The decisions taken by Modi ji to ensure strict punishment for those guilty of paper leaks are commendable. I am fully confident that these steps will ensure complete justice for the students who succeeded in the NEET examination.” He further highlighted Pradhan’s tenure as education minister, crediting him with advancing several key education initiatives, including the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), expansion of examinations in mother tongues, PM SHRI Schools, digital education, skill development and industry-academia collaboration. “During his tenure, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan ji has brought about significant reforms in the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP), arrangements for examinations in mother tongues, expansion of PM SHRI Schools, promotion of digital education, skill development, and strengthening industry-academia coordination. His efforts toward making the examination system more inclusive and student-centric have also been noteworthy.
