The student movement at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar has entered its 36th day, with thousands continuing their protest over examination irregularities and the paper leak issue. Amid the agitation, the government has initiated several measures, including the dismissal of 47 NTA employees, the formation of an STF to investigate irregularities in central recruitment exams and Cabinet approval for amendments to the anti-paper leak law. The proposed bill is expected to be introduced in Parliament soon. Meanwhile, Delhi Police has intensified security arrangements ahead of a possible rise in protesters over the weekend, with 18 metro stations shut. The third round of talks between the CJP and the government is also scheduled, though the CJP continues to demand the Education Minister’s resignation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stepped up communication with students through video messages, while RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said Gen Z asks questions and needs dialogue and explanation. At Jantar Mantar, police have created a barricaded buffer zone between protesters and security forces to prevent direct confrontation and avoid a repeat of recent clashes.
