‘Who is taking his words seriously?’ Pawan Khera on PM Modi’s video message over paper leaks

'Who is taking his words seriously?' Pawan Khera on PM Modi's video message over paper leaks

Pawan Khera slams PM’s remarks on NEET issue

NEW DELHI: Congress MP Pawan Khera on Friday questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s response to the paper leak issue, asserting that remarks made several days after the controversy erupted would not address the concerns of the protesting students.”Who is taking the Prime Minister’s words seriously? Let him speak. He is responding after 22-25 days and saying strange things,” Khera said, as cited by ANI.He said the youth had taken to the streets over genuine concerns and alleged that the Prime Minister’s statement would do little to address their frustration. “The youth are on the streets for a reason. Through such statements, the frustration of the youth is not going to end,” he added.Meanwhile, Congress president and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge joined Opposition MPs in protesting for the resignation of union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The Opposition has been demanding Pradhan’s resignation and a detailed discussion in Parliament on the irregularities in the NEET-UG 2026 examination. The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which has been leading the protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, said its agitation would continue until Pradhan steps down. “Our protest will continue until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns,” said CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said, while party spokesperson Deepak Balyan said the youth “won’t be fooled” by the government’s assurances on setting up fast-track courts. The developments come after activist Sonam Wangchuk ended his 26-day hunger strike following written assurances from the Centre on the NEET issue and proposed reforms to the competitive examination system.Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the Union Cabinet would consider a draft Bill proposing fast-track courts and stricter punishment for those involved in paper leaks.

Do you think delayed response by Prime Minister Modi will satisfy the protesting students?
