A split has been reported amongst Nepal’s ‘Gen Z’ protesters on Wednesday evening over choosing former Nepal Chief Justice Sushila Karki as interim Prime Minister of the Himalayan nation in turmoil.
The dispute and disagreements appeared to occur outside the Nepal Army headquarters, according to a Khabarhub report which said that disputes erupted just as Gen Z representatives were about to hold talks with Nepal Chief of Army Staff Ashok Sigdel.

The movement that toppled the Nepal government earlier this week had agreed to back the former Chief Justice and activist after holding meetings earlier this morning.
The report by the Nepal-based news outlet said that backing for Dharan Mayor Harka Sampang and Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah emerged. Nepalese media had earlier reported that Balen Shah was among the contenders.
As some members among the demonstrators kept shouting that “Karki’s leadership was unacceptable”, the impact of this was tension among the young protesters who earlier projected a united front.
