Dior to hold first runway show in Ireland this December

The French fashion house Dior has announced it will stage its first show in Ireland to unveil its Autumn 2027 collection. The event will take place on December 4 in Dublin, in the prestigious setting of Trinity College- Ireland’s oldest university- inside the evocative Old Library, a majestic 18th-century building and a cultural institution of global significance.

 
“Staging a show at Trinity College Dublin is a dream come true,” said Jonathan Anderson, Dior’s creative director. “I began my career in fashion in Dublin, so returning here holds deep personal significance. Presenting this collection in such an extraordinary setting, within an institution with a cultural history of such significance, is a true honour.”

The choice of the Irish capital also evokes a pivotal chapter in the history of international fashion and of the Avenue Montaigne house itself. Dublin is the birthplace of Carmel Snow, the legendary editor in chief of the US edition of Harper’s Bazaar, who in February 1947 coined the famous phrase ‘New Look’ immediately after witnessing Christian Dior’s debut show.
