Aamir Khan exits Ashneer Grover biopic over creative differences, Shraddha Kapoor and Rahul Mody begin hunt for new lead – Report
Aamir Khan is no longer attached to the upcoming biopic based on entrepreneur Ashneer Grover. The actor, who was earlier reported to headline the project alongside Shraddha Kapoor, has reportedly stepped away after differences over the film’s creative direction. Despite his departure, the makers are moving ahead with the project and have already begun looking for a new lead actor.
Creative differences lead to Aamir’s exit
According to Bollywood Hungama, earlier this year, reports suggested that Aamir Khan had joined hands with first-time director Rahul Mody for a film inspired by the life of the controversial start-up entrepreneur. Shraddha Kapoor was also said to be on board as the female lead, with the film expected to commence production in March 2027 after Aamir completed work on his period drama with Ashutosh Gowarikar.However, fresh developments indicate that the collaboration has ended before filming could begin.Reports stated that Aamir is fascinated by the world of start-ups, and was keen to get into the zone with the Ashneer Grover biopic. He sat on the script and developed it to the best of his sensibilities. But eventually, he ended up having creative differences with Rahul Mody, leading to the duo parting ways.
Rahul Mody and Shraddha Kapoor continue with the project
While Aamir has walked away from the film, the project itself remains very much alive. According to the report, Rahul Mody and Shraddha Kapoor are committed to taking the biopic forward and have now started searching for a younger actor to portray Ashneer Grover.”The real life couple is now looking to recast the film, and get a relatively younger name to play the part of Ashneer Grover. The conversations are on with two – three top names, and the cast is expected to be locked soon,” the report added.
Shraddha Kapoor to produce and star
Besides playing a pivotal role on screen, Shraddha Kapoor will also back the film as a producer in association with a leading studio. She is expected to portray the role of Ashneer Grover’s wife, making the project a significant addition to her slate both as an actor and producer.
