CM Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ exceeds Rs 16 crore in India pre-sales

'Jana Nayagan' pre-sales box office collection: CM Vijay's film exceeds Rs 16 crore in India, trails 'Leo' and 'GOAT'

One of the biggest Tamil releases of the year is ticking away. With less than two days until ‘Jana Nayagan’ hits theatres, excitement over Vijay’s much-awaited political action drama is only growing. This is Vijay’s last movie as he stepped into politics. Directed by H Vinoth, this film is a landmark release for his fans. The excitement is growing, with advance ticket sales picking up impressive steam in key markets, setting the stage for a blockbuster box office opening.

‘Jana Nayagan’ records over Rs 16 crore in Day 1 bookings

According to trade estimates from Sacnilk, ‘Jana Nayagan’ has already earned more than Rs 16 crore in Day 1 bookings across India, including blocked seats. As of Tuesday morning, the film’s domestic pre-sales stood at Rs 16.33 crore, driven largely by its Tamil version. The Tamil version alone has grossed Rs 11.30 crore from over 417,000 tickets sold in 5,091 shows. Tamil Nadu has emerged as the biggest market with Rs 6.74 crore in advance sales, followed by Karnataka (Rs 4.88 crore) and Kerala (Rs 1.80 crore). The Telugu and Hindi versions have also begun registering bookings, although their contribution remains comparatively smaller.

‘Jana Nayagan’ trails ‘Leo’ and ‘GOAT’ in advance bookings

‘Jana Nayagan’ is creating a lot of buzz, but the advance booking figures are not on par with Vijay’s earlier blockbusters yet. ‘Leo’ sold pre-sales tickets worth around Rs 46.36 crore while ‘The Greatest of All Time’ (GOAT) raked in Rs 29.83 crore in domestic advance bookings before Day 1. Unlike those films, ‘Jana Nayagan’ has had a gradual booking trend instead of an instant sell-out. Even so, trade experts believe the film still has enough time to witness a surge in last-minute bookings. Current projections suggest an opening day collection of Rs 50–60 crore in India, though the final figure could rise depending on audience response over the next two days.

Vijay’s final film gears up for one of the year’s biggest openings

‘Jana Nayagan’ features Vijay alongside Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Narain and Nassar in important roles. Directed by H. Vinoth with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the film has become one of the most talked-about Tamil releases of 2026. As fans prepare to celebrate Vijay’s final outing on the big screen, all eyes are now on whether ‘Jana Nayagan’ can convert its strong pre-sales into a record-breaking opening and emerge as one of the biggest box office launches in Tamil cinema.
