Strict instructions to theatres ahead of Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ release

'Jana Nayagan': Strict instructions issued to theatres ahead of Vijay's final film as Tamil Nadu bookings to open soon

Excitement for Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan, is reaching a fever pitch as the film is set for a grand worldwide release on July 23. Directed by H. Vinoth with music by Anirudh Ravichander, the film is likely to release in about 3,000 theatres worldwide, including nearly 950 screens in Tamil Nadu. Advance bookings have already begun in neighbouring states such as Karnataka and Kerala, while fans in Tamil Nadu eagerly await ticket sales to go live. As expectations reach a new high, fresh reports suggest that theatres have received clear instructions ahead of the film’s release.

Theatres told to follow strict rules ahead of ‘Jana Nayagan’ release

According to Dinamalar, theatre owners screening ‘Jana Nayagan’ have reportedly been instructed not to charge ticket prices above the government-approved rates under any circumstances. The report also states that the film’s producer has verbally conveyed these directions to exhibitors to ensure no complaints or controversies arise during the release. Since ‘Jana Nayagan’ received an ‘A’ certificate, theatres have also been reminded not to allow viewers below 18 years of age inside the screening halls, in line with CBFC guidelines.

CM Vijay’s film focuses on smooth release without any controversy

The report further claims that special attention is being given to ensure the release passes off without any issues. Now that Vijay is the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, any accusations of overcharging or violations in theatres could quickly become a political talking point. There are reports that opposition parties are likely to keep a close watch on the film’s release, and any irregularities, including overpricing of tickets, could be noted and made public. The exhibitors have been asked to adhere to all the regulations during the film’s theatrical run to avoid unnecessary criticism.

‘Jana Nayagan’ fever is on as the release day nears

Meanwhile, the buzz around ‘Jana Nayagan’ is at its peak. Advance bookings have already created good interest in Karnataka, and premium tickets are reportedly priced much higher on online platforms. Tamil Nadu bookings are also expected to open soon, adding to the buzz around Vijay’s farewell film. The film will open with sold-out theaters, never-before-seen fan festivities, and intense public scrutiny. Everyone is waiting to see how the film’s release will go and whether it will adhere to the rules set for exhibitors. Go to Source
