Sonam Wangchuk was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital on the 21st day of his hunger strike after his health reportedly deteriorated. According to police sources cited in the report, doctors had warned that continuing the fast could pose serious risks to his organs, prompting authorities to move him for medical treatment. Heavy deployment of Delhi Police and paramilitary forces was seen at the protest site, while volunteers and supporters continued raising slogans. Visuals showed Sonam Wangchuk being escorted from the stage by personnel in plain clothes, with police urging protesters not to obstruct official duties. Senior police officials, including the area’s DCP, were present to oversee the operation. Authorities repeatedly appealed to demonstrators to cooperate and avoid interfering with the medical evacuation. Even after Wangchuk was taken away, several volunteers remained at the protest venue, where security personnel continued efforts to manage the crowd and maintain order amid ongoing demonstrations at Jantar Mantar.
