'Avengers: Doomsday' showtimes, runtime listed at US theatres ahead of Monday advance ticket sales and Comic-Con trailer debut

The countdown to the release of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ has officially begun with select US theatre chains already listing showtimes ahead of tickets going on sale on Monday, July 20.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ confirmed for December 18 release

According to booking details, cinemas across the United States have started reserving screening slots for December 18, indicating that the film will stick to its release date, and not advance its debut to avert a direct clash with ‘Dune: Part Three’.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ listed on theatre websites

As per advance booking details, the highly anticipated superhero epic has been put up in Infinity Vision auditoriums, a new premium large-format introduced by Disney for select screenings of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.Listings have already appeared on Harkins Theatres across multiple markets, including Northern Arizona, Southern Arizona, Metro Phoenix, California, Colorado and Oklahoma, signalling that ticket sales are all set for Monday. The film’s official synopsis on booking sites reads: “Universes collide and the Multiverse Saga begins its final chapter in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday.”

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ early ticket sales reveal runtime

The early rollout has also revealed the film’s current runtime, with ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ clocking in at 165 minutes (2 hours and 45 minutes). While the final edit is still expected to undergo minor adjustments before release, the listed runtime places the film between two previous Avengers blockbusters. It is longer than ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ (149 minutes) but shorter than ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (181 minutes). As per reports, the ticket sales begin nearly five months ahead of release for Infinity Vision screenings, a strategy widely seen as a response to Warner Bros. securing all IMAX screens for ‘Dune: Part Three’ for three weeks.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ trailer to release at San Diego Comic-Con

The ticket sale launch comes just days ahead of Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25, where the studio is expected to unveil the first full trailer for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.

Rumoured ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ connection

Meanwhile, speculation continues to mount over how ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ will connect to the next Avengers film. According to unconfirmed reports, the upcoming Spider-Man film will feature a single post-credits scene that directly sets up ‘Doomsday’. The rumoured sequence reportedly reveals that a spider-tracker indicates Peter Parker is no longer on Earth, laying the groundwork for the events of the next Avengers instalment.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ cast

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ marks one of the MCU’s most ambitious crossover events to date, reuniting Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as they battle a multiversal threat led by Doctor Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr.The ensemble cast features Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Pedro Pascal (Mister Fantastic), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Rebecca Romijn (Mystique), among several others.Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theatres on December 18.
