Akhil Akkineni’s ‘Lenin’ continued its theatrical run with a modest performance on its eighth day at the box office. After completing its first week, the action drama entered its second weekend with lower collections.According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated Rs 1.65 crore net in India on Day 8. The latest figure marks a 17.5% decline compared to the Rs 2.00 crore net collected on the previous day.

India collections move past Rs 38 crore net

The Day 8 earnings came from 1,681 shows across India. ‘Lenin’ has taken its total India net collection to an estimated Rs 38.30 crore. Its India gross collection now stands at Rs 43.94 crore.The film completed its first week with Rs 36.65 crore net. It added another Rs 1.65 crore on its second Friday to strengthen its domestic total.

Worldwide gross climbs to Rs 53.49 crore

‘Lenin’ collected an estimated Rs 15 lakhs gross internationally on Day 8. This takes its overseas total to Rs 9.55 crore gross. The action film’s worldwide gross collection has now reached Rs 53.49 crore.The overseas numbers have remained comparatively modest. However, they have contributed to pushing the film beyond the Rs 50 crore mark globally.

Occupancy stays above 20% on day 8

The Telugu version of ‘Lenin’ recorded an overall occupancy of 20.96% on its eighth day. The film registered 15.69% occupancy in the morning. Afternoon shows recorded 20.77%, while evening occupancy increased to 21.38%. The highest turnout came during the night shows, which reported 25.31% occupancy.State-wise, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana remained the film’s biggest contributors, generating Rs 1.65 crore gross on Day 8. Karnataka added Rs 20 lakhs, while Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 2 lakhs. The remaining regions together earned Rs 3 lakhs.

A village drama inspired by Indian epics

Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, ‘Lenin’ is set in the fictional village of Bharatham Mitta in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district. The story follows an orphan who is raised by village elder Jayyamma and later falls in love with Bharathi. What begins as a simple rural drama gradually develops into a story of revenge, betrayal and long-hidden secrets.The film opens in 1976 and presents a world shaped by tradition, faith and village politics.
