R Madhavan will be seen on the big screens in the upcoming biographical period drama film G.D.N. Directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar the film puts light on the life of famous Indian inventor G.D. Naidu. The makers have now officially announced its theatrical release date.

The production house took to his Instagram account to share a brand new poster from the film. In the post they revealed that the film is set to release on August 7.The caption read, “Story of a Man Driven by Passion… Fueled by Legacy. #GDN releases worldwide on August 7.”

The picture shows R Madhavan character in an old get up from the time of the elderly days of G.D. Naidu. He is seen waving his arm and there is band baja around him.Talking about the film, it also features Sathyaraj, Priyamani, Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan and several other actors in important roles.

The movie is set during the pre-independence period and tells the story of G.D. Naidu’s life as an inventor, entrepreneur and visionary. He is also known as the “Edison of India”. The makers released the trailer earlier this month in Coimbatore. It shows how G.D. Naidu worked hard to achieve his dreams despite facing many problems.Interestingly, the film’s screenplay has been written by Krishnakumar Ramakumar and R. Madhavan together. Meanwhile, Govind Vasantha composed the music and background score. On the other hand, Aravind Kamalanathan is the cinematographer, while Bijith Bala handled the editing.The film is set for a pan-India release as it will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.Post its theatrical release, it will stream on Netflix.
