The political atmosphere in New Delhi is heating up ahead of the Parliament Monsoon Session beginning on July 20. The ruling NDA has called a key strategy meeting of senior MPs and ministers today to prepare its floor strategy and legislative agenda for both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. The meeting, scheduled at Kartavya Bhawan, will be attended by senior leaders including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President and Union Minister J.P. Nadda, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal. Senior NDA ministers and lawmakers are also expected to participate in discussions focused on ensuring smooth functioning of Parliament. The government is likely to discuss its plans to introduce important bills during the session, including possible constitutional amendment-related proposals. Among the key issues under discussion is the delimitation bill linked with the women’s reservation law, which could become a major political flashpoint between the government and opposition parties. Meanwhile, the Congress has already prepared its strategy to challenge the government during the session. In its parliamentary strategy meeting held in Delhi, party leaders discussed raising issues including the NEET paper leak controversy, inflation, unemployment, delimitation, alleged irregularities related to Ayodhya donations, ethanol blending policy, and other public concerns. The opposition is expected to push for debates and accountability on several issues, while the government maintains that it is ready to discuss all matters in Parliament. With both sides preparing their arguments and legislative plans, the upcoming Monsoon Session is expected to witness intense political debates, negotiations, and possible confrontations inside both Houses.
