He was best known for his role as Officer Smitty Smith in the show ‘Sanford and Sons’. While talking to WKYC in an old interview and recalling the same, the actor had shared that, “We did it in one time in rehearsal and the producers thought it was funny,” the actor recalled. “We did it in the first or second episode and it clicked. Some days, we would come to rehearsal, and they didn’t have anything solid.
