Kartik Aaryan to reprise Rooh Baba in 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4' with script currently in development and production likely to start in 2027 - Report

‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4’ has officially entered development, with Kartik Aaryan returning as Rooh Baba and Bhushan Kumar producing. The screenplay is underway, with production expected in late 2027. The franchise has thrived since 2007, with each part performing well. Kartik’s upcoming projects include ‘Naagzilla’ and films with Anurag Basu and Kabir Khan.

The ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ franchise is set to expand once again as ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4’ has officially entered development, with Kartik Aaryan returning to reprise his popular role as Rooh Baba. Following the blockbuster success of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, the makers have reportedly begun work on the screenplay and are expected to finalise a director before production begins in 2027.

Kartik Aaryan set for another spooky ride as Rooh Baba

According to Pinkvilla, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4’ is officially in the pipeline, with Rooh Baba set for another spooky ride. Riding on the blockbuster success of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ (2024), Kartik Aaryan will return as the beloved ghostbuster, with producer Bhushan Kumar helming the fourth instalment. The screenplay is presently being developed, with the makers keen on finalising a solid script before roping in a director. The horror-comedy is expected to go on floors in the second half of 2027. Priyadarshan directed the first film in the series, while Anees Bazmee directed the next two, and he is likely to direct this one too. An official announcement is expected once the screenplay and director are finalised.

Kartik Aaryan’s franchise has won over audiences with every part

Meanwhile, the ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ franchise has managed to win over audiences with every instalment. It began with the first film in 2007, followed by the second part 15 years later in 2022, and the third just two years later in 2024. All three films fared well at the box office, and the third part, like the ones before it, earned a positive response from viewers. The latest instalment saw Kartik sharing the lead with Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan.

Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming projects

On the work front, Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming projects include ‘Naagzilla: Naag Lok Ka Pehla Kaand’, set for release in 2026, and an untitled romantic drama directed by Anurag Basu, in which he’ll star opposite Sreeleela. Additionally, the actor is attached to ‘Captain India’, directed by Shimit Amin, and an untitled sports drama helmed by Kabir Khan. Go to Source
