Indian man dies in skydiving accident in Massachusetts.

A 28-year-old Indian man lost his life in a skydiving accident in Massachusetts after he fell from 30 feet above. Mani Chandra Teja Gaddam was immediately taken to Athol Hospital from Jumptown Skydiving and was later pronounced dead. Jumptown Skydiving said they were cooperating with the police in the investigation of the accident, which they said was caused by a “sudden and unpredictable” weather event.”We are deeply saddened by the incident that occurred at our facility and extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of the skydiver involved,” the statement read.”A sudden and unpredictable weather event appears to have caused the incident, and we are fully cooperating with the appropriate authorities as they conduct a thorough review. Out of respect for the investigative process and those affected, we will not comment further while the review is ongoing,” it said. “The safety of our customers, staff, and fellow skydivers remains our highest priority.”Mani’s family said he recently earned his A License in skydiving and was excited to continue the sport he loved.”Chandra was an exceptionally bright, kind, and hardworking young man with a passion for learning and embracing new challenges. His family made countless sacrifices throughout his life, moving from Vijayawada to Hyderabad to support his education and investing their savings to help him achieve his dreams. Through his dedication and their unwavering support, he graduated from Northeastern University, MA and had recently begun his professional career,” the family said in a fundraiser.”Alongside his academic and professional achievements, Mani believed in pursuing his passions and making the most of every opportunity. He recently earned his **A License** in skydiving and was excited to continue exploring the sport he loved and the adventures that lay ahead,” the family said. This latest incident comes less than a year after the death of Robert Szabo, 62, of Connecticut, in October 2025. Szabo died three days after he was injured in a midair collision with another experienced skydiver at Jumptown Skydiving.
