Connor Murphy allegedly injected gold believing it gave him ‘special powers’ before Thailand death

Looksmaxxing YouTuber Connor Murphy reportedly became convinced that injecting gold into his body could give him “special powers” in the weeks leading up to his death, according to claims made by fellow content creator Androgenic. Murphy, 32, died on July 7 after fleeing police and entering a lake near the luxury home he was renting in Thailand’s Samut Prakan province. Authorities later recovered his body from the water, while investigators continue to wait for autopsy and toxicology results. None of the allegations regarding gold injections have been confirmed by Thai officials or medical authorities.

Friend claims Connor Murphy believed injecting gold could unlock ‘special powers’

Following Murphy’s death, fellow looksmaxxing creator Androgenic shared details about what he described as the YouTuber’s unusual behavior during his final weeks. According to him, Murphy had become fixated on gold and believed it was a hidden mineral that powerful people kept secret because it could unlock extraordinary abilities. Androgenic alleged that Murphy believed consuming or injecting gold would allow him to reach higher levels of consciousness and even connect with other dimensions. He claimed that Murphy eventually began injecting gold as part of what he believed was an experiment. The creator also alleged that Murphy painted parts of his house with gold and became increasingly unstable. According to Androgenic, Murphy was eventually seen running around his neighborhood covered in blood and screaming before police were called to the scene. He further claimed that Murphy’s body showed discoloration that he believed was caused by gold poisoning. However, there has been no medical confirmation that Murphy suffered from gold poisoning, and Thai authorities have not verified any of these allegations.

Police investigation continues as autopsy and toxicology reports remain pending

Thai media reported that Murphy had been behaving erratically near the rented property before officers arrived. When police attempted to approach him, he reportedly ran toward a nearby lake and continued swimming farther into the water until he became exhausted and disappeared beneath the surface.Divers searched the lake for around 30 minutes before recovering Murphy’s body approximately 65 feet from the shore. An initial examination reportedly found no signs that he had been physically assaulted.Investigators also discovered two unused syringes on the front seat of Murphy’s car, along with unidentified white pills inside a waist bag. However, police have not linked either finding to the allegations about gold injections or concluded that any substance contributed to his death.Androgenic additionally claimed that Murphy had bipolar disorder and said friends had become increasingly concerned about his behavior in recent weeks. These claims have also not been officially confirmed by authorities.Murphy built an audience of more than 2.4 million YouTube subscribers through bodybuilding, fitness, and prank videos before later becoming associated with the looksmaxxing community. While claims about Connor Murphy injecting gold and believing it could grant him “special powers” have attracted widespread attention online, they currently remain unverified allegations made by a friend. Thai authorities are continuing their investigation, and the results of the autopsy and toxicology tests are expected to provide more clarity about the circumstances surrounding the YouTuber’s death.
