A late-night police encounter in Gurugram’s upscale Sushant Lok area ended with four suspected gang members dead after an alleged extortion attempt at a businessman’s residence. According to preliminary police information, a group of five armed suspects, believed to be linked to the Deepak Nadar gang, arrived in an SUV and allegedly opened fire outside the businessman’s home to intimidate him over an extortion demand. Police and Crime Branch teams responded swiftly after receiving information about the incident. A gun battle followed as officers intercepted the suspects. Authorities stated that nearly 60 rounds were fired during the exchange. Four of the alleged shooters sustained critical injuries and were later declared dead at the hospital, while a fifth suspect was injured and remains under medical treatment. The encounter also left three police personnel injured during the operation. Bullet marks were visible on the businessman’s residence, highlighting the intensity of the attack. Following the encounter, senior police officials, forensic experts, and Crime Branch teams reached the scene to secure evidence and begin a detailed investigation. The entire locality was cordoned off as investigators examined the crime scene, collected forensic samples, and documented the sequence of events. Police are expected to investigate the suspected extortion network, the alleged gang’s activities, and whether additional individuals were involved in planning or facilitating the attack.
