Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are married.A representative for Swift confirmed to CNN that the pop icon married the NFL star on Friday evening. The wedding took place at Madison Square Garden in New York in front of around 1,000 guests. Instead of having traditional bridesmaids and groomsmen, the couple chose family members for key roles. Swift’s brother, Austin Swift, served as her “Man of Honor,” while Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, was his best man.Actor Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony.Outside the venue, giant screens displayed the message “JUST&T MARRIED” in purple. The wedding came after nearly two years of the couple’s widely followed relationship, which began in 2023. Their romance has drawn global attention, with Swift’s fans closely following their journey.Although the ceremony was held at one of New York’s most famous venues, most details were kept secret. Fans gathered outside Madison Square Garden despite the scorching heat, hoping to catch a glimpse of the celebrations. Police also put traffic and pedestrian restrictions in place around the venue.A permit obtained by the Associated Press earlier this week had indicated that the wedding would take place over the July Fourth weekend. The permit also showed that celebrations could continue until 4 am.Several celebrities and sports stars attended the event, including Camila Cabello, Hugh Grant, Ethan Hawke, Jason Sudeikis, Karlie Kloss, Kareem Hunt, Cooper Kupp, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Joe Buck, and author Jenny Han.Guests arrived in black SUVs dressed in tuxedos and evening gowns. Reports said mobile phones were not allowed inside the venue, and very few photos or videos emerged from the ceremony. The wedding took place during a busy weekend in New York, with Independence Day celebrations, a parade of tall ships on the Hudson River, and a FIFA World Cup match in nearby New Jersey also scheduled.Earlier this week, Swift and Kelce donated $26 million to 20 local and national charities across the United States. Many of the organisations are based in places closely linked to the couple, including Nashville, Los Angeles, Kansas City and New York.Outside the venue, many fans celebrated the occasion.”We’re relatively the same age, I’m a year older than her and I just got married this year as well,” said New York resident Diana Warshavsky, who joined other Swift fans outside Madison Square Garden.”I’m just so happy for her.”
