Dinjith Ayyathan marks 7 years of ‘Kakshi: Amminippilla’; ‘Eko’ director says, ‘Everything feels like a sweet memory’

Director Dinjith Ayyathan has celebrated a memorable milestone in his filmmaking career. His debut feature ‘Kakshi: Amminippilla’, starring Asif Ali in the lead, has completed seven years since its release. Marking the occasion, the filmmaker took to Instagram and opened up on the long road that eventually led him to direct his first film.

‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ director looks back at nine-year journey

In his social media post, Dinjith spoke about the years of hard work, patience and uncertainty that shaped his career before his directorial debut.Sharing his thoughts, he wrote, “Today marks 7 years since Kakshi: Amminippilla released. It took me almost nine years to reach my first film. Like every filmmaker, I also have my own version of struggle, waiting, hope, confusion, and small victories. But when I look back now, everything feels like a sweet memory.”Released in 2019, ‘Kakshi: Amminippilla’ starred Asif Ali, Basil Joseph, Fara Shibla and Ahmed Sidhique in pivotal roles. The courtroom comedy-drama introduced Dinjith as a director and received a positive response from audiences and critics alike.

Success continues with ‘Eko’

Dinjith Ayyathan’s recent projects, including ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ and ‘Kerala Crime Files: Season 2’, received widespread appreciation. He has now followed them up with the thriller Eko, starring Sandeep Pradeep in the lead role. Speaking to ETimes earlier, he said, “There isn’t a specific formula behind this — I choose animals only when the story truly demands it. Even in my previous film Krishnam, the monkey belonged to the narrative naturally. Similarly, in Eko, the presence of an animal species is essential to the plot and the emotional journey of the story.”The film also features Vineeth, Narayan, Binu Pappu and Ashokan in significant roles. The story centres on the mysterious disappearance of a dog breeder. As the investigation unfolds, the mystery deepens with several unexpected twists and revelations. Go to Source
