Bollywood superstar Salman Khan may soon move out of his iconic Galaxy Apartments residence in Mumbai’s Bandra after living there with his family for over five decades. According to sources, the actor is planning to relocate to a newly approved six-storey sea-facing residence located approximately 150 metres from his current home once construction is completed. The proposed move comes amid ongoing security concerns following repeated threats allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and the firing incident outside Galaxy Apartments in 2024. While there has been no official confirmation that security is the sole reason behind the relocation, the new project is reportedly being designed with enhanced safety and privacy features. The Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority reportedly granted clearance for the redevelopment project on June 16. The property, located in Bandra’s Chimbai area, is registered in the name of Salman Khan’s mother, Salma Khan. An older two-storey structure that previously stood on the site has already been demolished, paving the way for the construction of the new six-storey residence. Salman Khan has lived at Galaxy Apartments since 1974, and the residence has become one of Mumbai’s most recognized celebrity landmarks, attracting thousands of fans every year. Following the 2024 firing incident, additional security measures, including bullet-resistant glass, were installed at the building.
