Arshad Warsi Opens Up on Wife Maria Goretti Being Considered for ‘Munna Bhai’: ‘Ghar Ki Murgi Le Aao’
Arshad Warsi is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Pritam and Pedro’, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. During a promotional interview for the film, the actor opened up about his previous collaboration with the filmmaker for ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’. During the chat, the actor revealed that his wife Maria Goretti was also supposed to be a part of the film.

In an interview with News18, Arshad Warsi made a surprising revelation about the casting of Circuit’s onscreen wife. The actor disclosed that Maria Goretti, who later appeared in films like ‘Salaam Namaste’, ‘Raghu Romeo’, and ‘Jaane Hoga Kya’, had been considered for the part.He said, “We had also considered calling Maria for this. Ghar ki murgi le aao! Raju ka beta, meri biwi – sab ko le aao, khada karo aur kaam pe laga do (laughs).”
Rajkumar Hirani talks about the nurse who became Circuit’s wife
In another little-known trivia from the film, the actress who appeared as Circuit’s wife in the photograph had actually played a nurse in the same film. Rajkumar Hirani, who was also part of the interview, explained how she was spotted and cast on the spot, primarily due to budget constraints.He recalled, “Every other actress was charging money. We didn’t have the budget for it. We just needed someone for the photograph. I then saw this girl walking that evening, and I asked my team who she is. They told me that she’s playing one of the nurses.”The director added, “I couldn’t recognise her because in the uniform, she was looking very different. I told them, ‘Yeh toh pehchaan mein bhi nahi aa rahi hai. Isko khada kar do yaar.’ We didn’t show any equation between Circuit and her in the film. For many years, people couldn’t make out who she is. It’s only in recent times that they connected the dots.”
