‘Balan: The Boy’ box office collections day 8: Weekend begins on positive note for Chidambaram’s thriller; Worldwide gross reaches Rs 24.17 Cr

Chidambaram’s ‘Balan: The Boy’ continued its steady run at the box office with a strong jump in collections on Day 8.According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 1.93 crore net in India on its eighth day. The latest figure represents a 96.9% increase over the Rs 98 lakhs net earned on Day 7.

India net collection crosses Rs 13 crore

The Day 8 collections came from 1,427 shows across the country. With the latest addition, Balan: The Boy has now accumulated Rs 13.22 crore net in India.The film’s India gross collection has reached Rs 15.32 crore. It had concluded its opening week with a total India net collection of Rs 11.29 crore before adding another Rs 1.93 crore on its second Friday.The film also registered an overall Malayalam occupancy of 37.04% on Day 8. Morning shows recorded 14.67% occupancy, followed by 24.17% in the afternoon. Evening occupancy stood at 34.50%, while night shows registered the highest turnout at 47%.

Worldwide gross climbs to Rs 24.17 crore

Balan: The Boy has grossed Rs 8.85 crore internationally so far. The film’s worldwide gross collection has now reached Rs 24.17 crore.

‘Ananthan Kaadu’ also registers healthy growth

Alongside ‘Balan: The Boy’, Arya’s ‘Ananthan Kaadu’ also witnessed an increase in collections on its second day in theatres. According to Sacnilk, the political action thriller earned Rs 99 lakhs net in India on Day 2. The figure marks a 52.3% increase compared to the Rs 65 lakhs collected on its opening day.After two days in theatres, ‘Ananthan Kaadu’ has collected Rs 1.64 crore net across India.
