Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley REUNITE for new thriller

Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley REUNITE; 'The Vampire Diaries' stars cast in new thriller 'You Deserve To Know'

Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley may not be heading back to Mystic Falls, but they are officially set to reunite, years after wrapping up their hit teen drama ‘The Vampire Diaries’.The former co-stars who played on-screen love interests will now reunite for the upcoming thriller ‘You Deserve To Know’. The film, which is a new adaptation of the novel of the same name, will see Dobrev play the role of Gwen, while Wesley stars as Scott. The two portray neighbours who find themselves on opposite sides of a murder investigation, setting them on a collision course as the mystery unfolds. As per Deadline, the film centres on three suburban couples who are not only next-door neighbours but also best friends. Their seemingly perfect lives are upended when one of the husbands is murdered, exposing a web of long-buried secrets that threatens to tear their friendships apart.News of the reunion comes shortly after Paul shared with People, “Nina and I have always thought of doing something together. So, maybe there’s a world in which Nina and I can do something together. Daniel Gillies (played the role of Elijah Mikaelson), who was on the show, him and I always talk about doing something.”At the time, the tease about a possible reunion sparked excitement among fans who have long cherished their bond, both on and off screen. The reunion marks the first major project since starring together in ‘The Vampire Diaries’. Dobrev and Wesley starred opposite each other during the show’s first six seasons as Elena Gilbert and Stefan Salvatore. The two played love intersts until Dobrev’s character, Elena falls in love with Stefan’s brother, Damon Salvatore, played by Ian Somerhalder.Wesley remained with the series throughout its eight-season run, while Dobrev returned for the show’s series finale. Both Nina and Paul have remained busy with new projects. Dobrev recently starred in and produced the short film ‘General Admission’, which premiered at the Tribeca Festival. She will next appear in the action thriller ‘The Get Out’ alongside Russell Crowe, Aaron Paul and Theresa Palmer. She is also set to star in and executive produce ‘It Happened One Summer’, based on the romance novel of the same name, and the erotic thriller series ‘Night Float’.Meanwhile, Wesley recently completed a recurring role opposite Christina Hendricks in the upcoming third season of ‘The Buccaneers’. He has also wrapped work on the fifth and final season of ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’, in which he portrays the iconic James T Kirk.
