Prakash Raj faces fresh legal setback as the court reissues NBW

'Singham' actor Prakash Raj faces fresh legal setback as the court reissues a non-bailable warrant- Report

A city court has once again issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against actor Prakash Raj in connection with a case related to alleged multiple voter registrations. The latest development came after the actor reportedly failed to appear before the court despite earlier summons and warrants. According to court records, this is the third time a non-bailable warrant has been issued in the matter. The case is currently being heard in Bengaluru, and the next hearing has been scheduled for July 25.

Latest court hearing leads to fresh warrant

The latest NBW was issued on June 12 following a petition filed by Bengaluru-based advocate K. Dilip Kumar. As reported by Live Law, the court noted that Prakash Raj had not appeared before it despite repeated opportunities. Earlier summons were reportedly issued to the actor, followed by warrants when he did not attend the proceedings. With no appearance recorded, the court decided to re-issue the non-bailable warrant and continue the case. The matter will now come up again during the hearing fixed for July 25.

Case relates to alleged multiple voter registrations

The case revolves around allegations that Prakash Raj’s name appeared in electoral rolls in more than one state. According to the complaint, apart from being registered as a voter in Bengaluru’s Shanthinagar Assembly constituency, his name was also allegedly found in electoral records in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and Serilingampally in Telangana. This was followed by legal action being taken against the party under certain clauses of the Representation of the People Act, 1950.

Court proceedings continue ahead of the July hearing

Records show that summons were issued to the actor after the court took up the case. When those summons could not be served, the court issued its first non-bailable warrant on March 17, 2026. The warrant was subsequently reissued in April and again in June after Prakash Raj did not appear before the court. With the latest order now in place, the case remains under judicial consideration. Further proceedings are expected when the matter is heard again on July 25.Disclaimer: The information in this report is based on a legal hearing as reported by a third-party source.
