Shajeer Venga wins Rs 5 crore in Sharjah Islamic Bank’s millionaire campaign.

Just weeks after opening a savings account with Sharjah Islamic Bank, an Abu Dhabi-based Indian expatriate has won the Dh2 million grand prize in the bank’s Millionaire campaign. The winner,Shajeer Venga, 34, opened his account through the SIB Digital App and was selected in a draw held at SIB’s main branch. His win came within weeks of joining the programme, an outcome he said he had not expected despite following the campaign for years.Speaking to Khaleej times, Venga said he had long hoped to become one of the campaign’s winners after reading about previous prize recipients. He described the Dh2 million payout as a life-changing sum that would help him invest in his future and reunite his family in the UAE. “The Dh2 million prize will be life-changing,” Venga said, adding that the money would support plans to bring his family from India to live with him. He also credited the programme for turning a long-held aspiration into reality.The latest draw produced several other winners. Emirati customer Moza Butti received a BMW XM, while 40 additional participants were awarded cash prizes.Nabil Abou Alwan, Head of Retail Banking at Sharjah Islamic Bank, said the initiative is designed to reward customers while encouraging a culture of saving. He said the programme continues to provide customers with opportunities to pursue personal and financial goals.

About the Millionaire campaign

Sharjah Islamic Bank launched the Millionaire campaign in 2025 to encourage customers to build savings through eligible deposit accounts. The programme offers more than Dh20 million in prizes annually, with customers receiving raffle entries based on the balances maintained in their accounts.According to the bank, the campaign features seasonal grand prizes worth Dh2 million, quarterly prizes of Dh1 million, luxury vehicles and hundreds of cash rewards distributed throughout the year
