Political activity intensified across Uttar Pradesh as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a fresh attack on the Samajwadi Party over law and order, claiming riots were common before 2017 but that there is now no place for rioters in the state. Meanwhile, the Samajwadi Party convened a major meeting of Brahmin leaders, including sitting and former MPs and MLAs, using Janeshwar Mishra’s birth anniversary to strengthen outreach ahead of the Assembly elections. Congress leader Anshu Awasthi accused the BJP-led government of targeting the Brahmin community and alleged that over 1,000 Brahmins had been killed in the past decade. BSP chief Mayawati also reviewed preparations for the upcoming elections, urging party workers to expand support among OBC communities and promote BSP policies more effectively. SP president Akhilesh Yadav is scheduled to address a press conference where he is expected to speak on the Ram Temple donation controversy and possible election alliances. The SIT probing the alleged donation theft case questioned more than 40 bank employees and continued gathering evidence. A complaint seeking an FIR has also been filed, expressing concerns over the SIT’s independence. UP Congress chief Ajay Rai demanded a time-bound inquiry by a sitting High Court judge, while minister Om Prakash Rajbhar defended the temple trust’s functioning and criticized opposition allegations. Separately, minister Jaiveer Singh paid floral tributes to Maharana Pratap on his birth anniversary in Lucknow.
