Govind accuses Kala Hiran makers of misrepresenting the Salman case

'Kept in the dark, shaken to the core': Govind Namdev accuses 'Kala Hiran' makers of misrepresenting the Salman Khan case

Veteran actor Govind Namdev has alleged that the makers of ‘Kala Hiran’ misled him about the film’s story. He said he was shocked after watching the trailer and felt cheated. Meanwhile, Salman Khan’s legal team has also sent a notice to the makers, demanding an immediate halt to the film’s release.

The film ‘Kala Hiran’ is facing one problem after another. Veteran actor Govind Namdev has now come out and made a big claim against the film’s makers. He said the makers told him a different story before he signed the film, but what was actually filmed was completely different. He feels the makers cheated him. The film is also in trouble because Salman Khan has gone to court against the makers. Salman has said his image has been used in the film without his permission. The film is said to be based on the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, in which Salman was involved.

Govind Namdev reveals how he was brought into ‘Kala Hiran’

In an interview with Amar Ujala, Govind opened up about how he was brought into the project. He revealed that he was first told the film was called ‘Sambhal’, and later the title changed to ‘Kala Hiran’. He was also assured that the film would only show the courtroom scenes related to Khan’s blackbuck case and nothing beyond that. Namdev made it very clear that he shares a close bond with Salman and would never agree to be part of any project that targets or speaks ill of him. He also added that had he known the film’s true nature, he would have refused to sign it without any second thoughts.

Govind Namdev says he was ‘shaken to the core’ after watching ‘Kala Hiran’ trailer

The actor shared that he was left deeply shocked and disturbed after watching the film’s trailer. He could not believe how different the final product was from what he had been told earlier. Expressing his feelings, Namdev said, “As soon as I watched the trailer, I was shaken to the core. I instantly understood that the project is completely different from what I was shot for. We were never told that a character resembling Salman Khan would be created and misrepresented in this manner in the film. The moment I saw the trailer, I felt like I had been kept in the dark and used. There is a world of difference between what I was told and what has actually been made.”

Govind Namdev says he had no idea ‘Kala Hiran’ story would take a different direction

Govind admitted he had no clue about the film’s real story when he first came on board. He shared that he was kept completely in the dark about where the film was actually headed. Opening up about it, he said, “I was told that we were making a film named Sambhal. At that time, I had absolutely no idea that the story would later take a completely different direction”.

Govind Namdev says he agreed to ‘Kala Hiran’ only for courtroom scenes

Namdev further recalled how the makers later told him about a new film called Kala Hiran, assuring him that it would simply depict what had taken place inside the courtroom during Salman Khan’s blackbuck case. Believing the film would stick strictly to the facts, he agreed to be a part of it. Sharing his side of the story, he said, “I was informed that there is only a long courtroom scene and that is all I had to do. It was also mentioned that nothing new was being added from our end. We were only supposed to show the audience what had happened in court. I felt that if only the things recorded on file were being shown, then there was nothing wrong with it, which is why I said yes. I cannot consider any Bishnoi gang as my ideal. I cannot even think of such a thing. I believed that I was only performing the courtroom portion. However, what has come to light now has made me uncomfortable as well”.

Salman Khan’s legal team sends notice to ‘Kala Hiran’ makers

This latest development came just a few days after Salman Khan’s legal team sent a strong legal notice to the makers of ‘Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy’. The notice alleged that the film is based on Salman’s ongoing blackbuck poaching case. Through the notice, Salman’s team demanded that the film’s release be stopped immediately. They also asked the makers to take down all posters and promotional material related to the film. The notice further warned the makers that if they failed to comply, they would face more serious legal action in the days to come. Go to Source
