The administration has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate allegations of financial irregularities involving donation funds at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The decision comes after a formal request from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which sought a detailed inquiry into the reported disappearance of a portion of the temple’s donation money. According to officials, the SIT will comprise three senior officers who will examine all aspects of the case, including the collection, handling, accounting, and management of donations received by the temple. The investigation aims to determine whether any funds were misappropriated and identify those responsible if wrongdoing is established. The issue gained attention after allegations surfaced regarding discrepancies in the temple’s donation records. Following the concerns raised, the temple trust urged authorities to conduct a transparent and impartial investigation to maintain public confidence in the management of donations made by devotees from across the country. Officials have stated that the SIT will review financial documents, transaction records, surveillance footage, and statements from individuals associated with the handling of temple funds. The probe is expected to establish the facts surrounding the allegations and recommend further legal action if necessary. Senior government authorities have emphasized that the investigation will be carried out fairly and without prejudice. The swift formation of the SIT reflects the administration’s intent to ensure accountability and transparency in a matter involving one of the country’s most prominent religious institutions. A statement attributed to temple construction committee chairman Nripendra Misra indicated that any allegations related to donation funds would be thoroughly investigated. Authorities have assured devotees that all necessary measures are being taken to protect the integrity of the temple’s financial management system. The SIT is expected to begin its inquiry immediately, and officials have indicated that findings will be submitted after a comprehensive review of all available evidence.
