Patna news: IG Reveals How 400 Protesters Blocked Tracks Despite Exam Trains Being Available

Senior police officials have provided fresh details regarding the railway station unrest, stating that adequate train arrangements had already been made for examination candidates before the protest turned disruptive. According to Inspector General (IG) Amaresh Kumar, special arrangements were in place for students traveling toward destinations including Araria, Darbhanga, and Madhubani. The official said that trains serving the concerned routes had arrived at the station and candidates were boarding them in a normal manner. However, the situation changed shortly before departure when an estimated 300 to 400 individuals gathered at the station around 11:45 a.m. According to the IG, authorities believe the group’s primary objective was not to board the trains but to disrupt railway operations and inconvenience other passengers. The protesters allegedly moved directly onto the railway tracks and staged a blockade, demanding the operation of an additional special train. Police and railway officials reportedly engaged in discussions with the demonstrators in an effort to resolve the situation peacefully. Authorities explained that existing train services were available for candidates and could transport them to their examination destinations within the required time frame. The IG further stated that senior officials, including the Director General of Police, had instructed authorities to reassure students regarding their examination concerns. Officials reportedly informed candidates that if any examination was missed due to travel-related issues, efforts would be made to explore alternatives, including rescheduling options or other administrative support mechanisms. Despite these assurances, tensions escalated and the protest eventually led to disruption of rail services and damage to station property. The incident has raised questions about crowd management, examination logistics, and the challenges faced by authorities during large-scale candidate movements. An inquiry into the disturbances and the circumstances leading to the blockade is expected as officials continue assessing the impact of the incident.
