'PM Modi must decide': CJP's Abhijeet Dipke tells Centre to choose students or 'failed' minister

Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke said on Saturday in Amritsar that Prime Minister Narendra Modi must decide whether students are more important to him or an “incompetent” and “failed” minister. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have to make a choice – either he is with the students or an incompetent and failed minister. He must decide soon,” Dipke said, as cited by PTI. Students and youth gathered in large numbers at the Golden Gate, the city’s entry point, to take part in CJP’s demonstration against alleged examination irregularities. They demanded the resignation of education minister Dharmendra Pradhan as part of the party’s nationwide protest campaign.Similar demonstrations were earlier held in Delhi, Pune and Lucknow.“We will all go to Delhi on June 20 and camp there till the time Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. Do not be afraid to go to jail. When I returned to India from the US, I also thought that I would be put behind bars,” Dipke said, addressing the gathering.“The main objective is to provide justice to NEET and CBSE students. Accountability must be fixed. Paper leaks can’t go on,” he added. The CJP founder further said that no protest movement in the country can succeed without the support of Punjab.“The farmers’ agitation against the (now repealed) farm laws began from Punjab. I had gone to the Singhu border to join the protesters. We saw how the Centre tried to defame the agitation,” he said. The protesters, including candidates preparing for teaching, medical, revenue, administrative and other government recruitment exams, assembled at Eco Garden from morning to join the demonstration. The CJP has planned additional demonstrations in Bengaluru before returning to Jantar Mantar in Delhi for a larger protest scheduled for June 20.The group has recently gained visibility through social media campaigns focused on examination-related issues, positioning itself as a youth-led platform advocating reforms in the education sector. It had earlier organised a protest at Jantar Mantar in the national capital on June 6, where students and young people from across the country gathered to demand accountability over alleged irregularities in competitive examinations and the resignation of Pradhan.
