A major fire incident has been reported from Delhi’s Tughlakabad area, days after another fire in Malviya Nagar, raising fresh concerns over fire safety in the capital. According to reports, the blaze broke out in the early hours in a multi-storey residential building and spread rapidly, trapping several occupants inside before they could escape. Three people, including two women and one man, reportedly lost their lives due to burn injuries, while five women were rescued and shifted to a hospital for treatment. Rescue teams from the Delhi Fire Service and police evacuated several residents from the building. Preliminary information suggests the fire may have started after a suspected short circuit involving parked vehicles on the ground floor, before spreading upward through the structure. The building reportedly had limited exit routes, complicating evacuation efforts. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the blaze while assessing whether any safety lapses contributed to the tragedy.
