As Janhvi gets trolled, Sanjay says internet is destroying actors’ careers

As Janhvi Kapoor gets trolled, Sanjay Gupta says social media is 'literally destroying' actors' careers

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta indirectly reacted to the trolling faced by Janhvi Kapoor over her Peddi scenes, saying social media is “literally destroying” young actors’ careers. Without naming her, he wrote that actors face a ruthless and unforgiving world where the audience is “judge, jury and algorithm.”

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta has been quite vocal on social media lately. A few days ago, he sparked a conversation by questioning the Federation of West India Cine Employees’ (FWICE) decision to impose a ban on Ranveer Singh regarding the ‘Don 3’ dispute. This stance earned him a sharp response from FWICE. Since then, Gupta has continued to speak his mind on various happenings within the industry. His latest comment came in the form of an indirect reaction to the trolling that Janhvi Kapoor has been facing over her controversial scenes in Ram Charan’s ‘Peddi’.

Sanjay Gupta says social media is ‘literally destroying’ young actors’ careers

Without naming Janhvi, Gupta took to X to express his concern about how social media has been damaging actors’ careers. Taking to X, Sanjay did not mince his words. He said that social media is actively destroying the careers of actors who have barely had a chance to find their footing in the industry. In his view, these young actors are being thrown into a world that is ruthless and shows absolutely no mercy. He wrote, “Social Media is literally destroying careers of actors that have hardly taken off. They are facing a ruthless & unforgiving world. They need to realise just how very careful they need to be with their choices. The audience is judge, jury and algorithm.”
