Crime: Police Bust ‘Project X’ Rave Party in Pune, Drugs and Liquor Worth ₹10 Lakh Seized

Police in Pune raided a bungalow where an illegal rave party, reportedly named “Project X,” was underway. During the operation, authorities seized drugs including cannabis, hookah setups, and liquor worth around ₹10 lakh. A total of 156 people were present at the event, including 107 men and 49 women. The gathering was reportedly being held without official permission, raising serious questions about how such large-scale parties operate undetected. Police detained several individuals and sealed the premises following the raid. The incident has triggered concerns over the availability and circulation of illegal substances at private events, as well as possible lapses in monitoring by authorities. Officials stated that investigations are underway to determine how the party was organized, who supplied the banned substances, and whether similar events have taken place in the area previously. The case has once again highlighted the recurring issue of unlicensed rave parties and drug consumption in urban residential zones.
