Aishwarya Rai, Akshaye Khanna’s Miami performance on Taal goes viral: VIDEO

Aishwarya Rai, Akshaye Khanna's stage performance in Miami on 'Taal' song goes viral, netizens react - WATCH VIDEO

More than two decades after its release, ‘Taal’ continues to hold a special place in the hearts of movie lovers. Directed by Subhash Ghai, the 1999 musical romance is remembered not only for its chartbuster soundtrack and grand storytelling but also for the beloved pairing of Akshaye Khanna and Aishwarya Rai.Adding to the nostalgia, an old video featuring the two actors dancing together at a stage show in Miami in 1999 has resurfaced online and is now winning over fans all over again. In the viral clip, Akshaye and Aishwarya can be seen performing to the iconic title track, ‘Taal Se Taal Mila’, recreating the magic that made them one of the most admired on-screen couples of the late 1990s.What has particularly caught the attention of social media users is the natural chemistry between the actors. As the performance unfolds, fans have once again been reminded of the charm and elegance they brought to the screen during that era.Akshaye and Aishwarya first shared screen space in ‘Aa Ab Laut Chale’ before reuniting for ‘Taal’. Their pairing was widely appreciated by audiences, and the resurfaced performance has reignited conversations about their memorable collaboration. The viral clip has also brought renewed attention to an old interview in which Akshaye Khanna spoke candidly about Aishwarya Rai’s beauty. During the promotions of ‘Ittefaq’, filmmaker Karan Johar asked him, “Who do you think is the sexiest girl in the business right now?” Without hesitation, Akshaye named Aishwarya. He said, “Ash. I can’t take my eyes off her every time I meet her. It’s embarrassing for men. She must be used to it, people staring at her. But I am not used to not being able to take my eyes off somebody. You just keep staring at her like a lunatic.”The candid compliment has resurfaced alongside the Miami performance, further fueling fans’ fascination with the duo and their enduring popularity.Meanwhile, there may be more reason for ‘Taal’ fans to celebrate. Recently, Subhash Ghai shared an update on the possibility of a sequel, revealing that the project has moved significantly closer to becoming a reality.Speaking to Hindustan Times, the filmmaker said, “The post I shared has a question, and the audience will answer it. I have been facing this question for 15 years, ‘When are you going to make Taal again?’ Uss Taal ki jo energy hai, kitni powerful hai ki aaj ke Gen-Z bhi mujhe bol rahe hain Taal banaiye. But the easier the subject of Taal seems, the more difficult it is in reality. Uska poora script hum almost complete kar chuke hain aur abhi hum soch rahe hain yeh sahi samay hai, maybe we should make it. In order to make it, purity is very important.”With the old Miami performance going viral and discussions around a possible sequel gaining momentum, ‘Taal’ appears to be enjoying a fresh wave of love from audiences, proving that its appeal remains as strong as ever even after 27 years.
