Evanescence’s Amy Lee shares joy over 11-year-old son Jack’s new music obsession: 'The perfect age for metal'

Amy Lee, best known for her stint in the famed metal rock band Evanescence, recently opened up about motherhood and how life has been. She also loves that her son is starting to love metal music just like her.

Amy Lee talks about her son’s love for metal music

In a recent conversation with Loudwire, the famed musician touched upon motherhood. One exciting aspect she listed was watching her son fall in love with metal music.The singer has currently been on tour with Metallica for their ‘M72 Tour’ and shared that she brought her 11-year-old son, Jack, along to see the music industry and concerts. She cited in the interview, “I got to bring my son, who’s 11 now — just at the perfect age to fall in love with metal.”She further added that “Him getting to experience that in the stadium, rain gently starts falling during ‘Nothing Else Matters,’ I’m just watching his mind go like, ‘I’m in.’” She further shared that seeing her son in this setting brought back a lot of nostalgic memories for her. “It was such a good thing for my heart and took me back to being that age and falling in love with music,” she quipped.

During her interview, she even weighed in on what it was like for her and her family to go on tour with Metallica. She explained that the veteran band was extremely welcoming, and she has been having a great time performing with them.She cited, “They were so great, they were so gracious. You never know how it’s going to be coming into somebody else’s world.”For the unversed, Evanescence formed in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1994 by Amy Lee herself and guitarist Ben Moody. The two knew each other from a youth camp and started their music journey by writing songs together and releasing EPs until they officially signed with a record company.
