Jennifer Aniston's heartfelt letter to Matthew Perry withdrawn from upcoming charity auction

A personal handwritten letter that Jennifer Aniston gave her late ‘Friends’ co-star Matthew Perry, has reportedly been withdrawn from an upcoming charity auction. The note, believed to have been written around the wrap of their hit series ‘Friends’, was initially among the actor’s belongings, set to be auctioned off to raise funds for his charity. The letter, believed to have been given to the star after the wrap of the 10 seasons of ‘Friends’ in 2004, has officially been withdrawn, Heritage Auctions confirmed to The Independent.

Jennifer Aniston’s note to Matthew Perry

The handwritten note, offered a rare glimpse into Aniston and Perry’s off-screen friendship and even seemed to allude to the actor’s struggles with drug addiction. The handwritten note reads,“Matty! Oh my God….How am [I] going to live without your light in my life on a daily basis? I know that the light has been dimmed at times and there were moments I was so scared it was going to go out all together. You have always come back.”“Thank you for choosing to live this life. You have so much to give and not just to the masses with your talent but as a friend and a husband and a father,” she wrote.“We have come a long way baby. Since that night we met at that bar who’s name I can’t remember…. Anyway…. I love you dear friend.”“I am so proud of you and I am always here for you. You may not think to call me but I am always here. This has been quite a [sic] we have shared and I so cherish it and you. I love you.”

Poem featured in Jennifer’s note

The note also featured a typed poem, which read, “It’s all about love / and trusting your feelings / and finding your center / and being yourself / and following your heart / and knowing the way / and giving them ot others….”The poem concluded with the last three lines: “And loving the questions / and embracing the mystery / and beginning again.”Aniston signed off the poem with a heart.

About the auction

As per the report, the letter handwritten note was reportedly preserved inside an album containing photographs from the cast’s private Friends wrap party in 2004, a keepsake Perry is said to have held on to through the years. The auction, scheduled for June 5, was organised to benefit the Matthew Perry Foundation, a nonprofit established to support people struggling with addiction. The cause held particular significance for Perry, who was open about his battle with alcohol and substance abuse.Perry, best known for playing Chandler Bing on the hit sitcom, passed away in October 2023 at the age of 54 at his Los Angeles home.
