Varun gets slammed by netizens for inappropriate attire

'Aise kaun mandir jaata hai?': Varun Dhawan gets slammed by netizens for inappropriate attire

Varun Dhawan faced online backlash after visiting a Mumbai temple in shorts and a vest. Netizens slammed him for inappropriate attire. Meanwhile, his upcoming film ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’, directed by David Dhawan, is embroiled in a legal dispute over the ‘Chunari Chunari’ song, releasing June 5.

Varun Dhawan drew criticism from social media users on Wednesday following his visit to a Mumbai temple, where he was seen dressed in casual attire, shorts and a vest. Footage that circulated online showed him departing the temple with a tilak applied on his forehead. The actor acknowledged the waiting paparazzi with a smile and a greeting.

Netizens call out actor for disrespecting religious sentiments

Netizens flooded the comments, slamming Varun for his casual temple attire and demanding he ‘dress properly’ out of respect. “The least you could do is dress up appropriately for the mandir,” one user fired back. “Went temple in stupid dress and he is seeking blessings now,” said another. One commenter even switched to Hindi, writing, “Prabhu shirt toh pehen lete kuch toh dhanka pehen leta tu mandir ayaa hain Sirf batane ke leye jabarjasti kyu ateyy hoon yaar.”

Varun’s upcoming film ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ in the pipeline

Meanwhile, Varun is gearing up for his next big release, ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’. Directed by dad David Dhawan, the film boasts a lively cast with Pooja Hegde, Mrunal Thakur, and Maniesh Paul.

‘Chunari Chunari’ row: Producer takes legal route

However, the film has also attracted controversy in the lead-up to its release. Producer Vashu Bhagnani’s Puja Entertainment has approached the Bombay High Court, filing a case against Tips Industries Limited, Ramesh Taurani, Kumar S Taurani, and director David Dhawan. Bhagnani has alleged that the popular ‘Chunari Chunari’ song, originally featured in his 1999 production ‘Biwi No.1’, has been incorporated into ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ without obtaining the necessary permission.

Taurani breaks silence on legal dispute at trailer launch

At the trailer launch of ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’, Tips Music’s Taurani was quizzed about the ongoing legal dispute. He seemed unfazed, brushing off concerns and assuring that everything was under control. “There is no problem in this. Whatever we had, has been sorted,” he said. He further added, “And whatever comes next will also be sorted. So, there is no problem. And it’s a sub judice matter. So, we are handling it.”
