The journey to finalise a director for ‘Thalaivar 173’ has seen several unexpected developments. The project was first announced with Sundar C as director. However, he later left the film for unforeseen reasons. After that, ‘Don’ director Cibi Chakravarthi came on board and began extensive pre-production work. Reports suggested that multiple characters for Rajinikanth had been planned. However, recent rumours suggested that script-related changes sparked fresh discussions, and speculation soon emerged that Cibi Chakravarthi was no longer attached to the project.
