'Nobody was tougher than me': Trump isn't happy with Russia & Ukraine as bloodshed mounts; calls it 'horrible waste'

US PresidentDonald Trump on Sunday voiced deep frustration over the war in Ukraine, calling it a “horrible waste of humanity,” and insisting he is “not happy” with the escalating conflict.Trump’s remarks came after Russia unleashed an aerial assault on Kyiv, leaving four people dead and setting government buildings ablaze.

‘Nobody was tougher than me’

Talking to reporters, Trump said, “Nobody was tougher in Russia than me. But I’m not happy. I’m not happy. I’m not happy about the whole situation. You know, it’s interesting.” He further emphasised that the Russia-Ukraine war is not affecting the United States because “it’s not our soldiers.” But the US president added that both countries are losing around 7000 soldiers per week, calling it a “horrible waste of humanity.” He also expressed hope that the war is going to get settled.

‘They’re losing 7,000 every single week’

“It doesn’t affect us because it’s not our soldiers. But they’re losing. I used to tell you 5,000, they’re losing 7,000 between Ukraine and Russia, 7,000 soldiers every single week,” Trump said.”It’s such a horrible waste of humanity. So, no, I am not thrilled with what’s happening there, I will tell you. I think it’s going to get settled,” he added. Trump asserted that he is not happy with Russia and Ukraine and stressed that the US is going to get the war between the two countries settled.

‘Waste of great humanity’

“So, I settled seven wars. This, I would have said, would have been maybe the easiest one to settle of all. But with war, you never know what you’re getting. But we’re going to get it. I believe we’re going to get it settled. But I am not happy with them. I’m not happy with anything having to do with that war. It’s just such a waste of great humanity,” Trump said. His statement comes after he confirmed that the US is prepared to move forward with further sanctions against Russia. “Are you ready to move to the second phase of sanctions against Russia?” a reporter asked. Trump replied, “Yeah, I am.” Go to Source
