Swimming is considered one of the best exercises for maintaining overall fitness and a healthy body. Apart from its health benefits, swimming is also a popular recreational activity enjoyed by many celebrities. Several South Indian stars are known for their love of swimming and often spend time in the water to stay fit and refreshed. Here’s a look at some South Indian actors who are skilled swimmers.

R Madhavan

The ‘Dhurandhar’ star R Madhavan known for his acting skills is quite popular as a good swimmer. In addition, not only him but his son, Vedaant has made a mark in swimming at the state level. It is also suggested that he gave him swimming lessons during his free time.

Lakshmi Manchu

Telugu actress Lakshmi Manchu is also a great swimmer; in 2017, she talked about a near-death experience. Lakshmi Manchu was filming a Hollywood film ‘Basmati Blues’ when she was thrown out of her canoe during a scene at the Azhapuzha lake. She revealed that she had to swim for a kilometer, after she and her co-star were saved by a fishing boat. She later thanked her swimming lessons which helped her that day.

Ram Charan

Ram Charan who is gearing up for his next sports action drama, ‘Peddi,’ also knows scuba diving. According to a report by The New Indian Express, professional underwater photographer Sumer Verma revealed while speaking about the underwater shoot of the film that Ram Charan already knew scuba diving and Jr NTR later trained for it.

Dhanush

As proficient as Dhanush is in filmmaking, the ‘Kara’ actor also has a good command of swimming. It has been revealed that while working on his movie, ‘Maryan,’ Dhanush did all the underwater ocean sequences and only some shots were taken in a swimming pool. He also shot in live locations including Rameshwaram and Andaman.
