Salman Khan has not stepped in to resolve the ‘Don 3’ standoff between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar. Despite reports circulating on Friday suggesting the superstar had played peacemaker in the ongoing dispute between the actor and the filmmaker, no such intervention took place.

Salman Khan did not play peacemaker in ‘Don 3’ row

According to Hindustan Times, speculations that Salman Khan called and acted as a mediator are untrue. No such intervention has taken place.

‘Don 3’ hit by repeated delays, production blames actor not filmmaker

Ranveer was officially unveiled as the face of ‘Don 3’ back in 2023 through a striking teaser, generating great excitement among fans. However, the project has since been plagued by repeated delays, leaving many wondering about the reasons behind the holdups. Reportedly, the production has maintained that the blame for these setbacks does not lie with filmmaker Farhan or producer Ritesh Sidhwani.

How Ranveer Singh’s other commitments led to ‘Don 3’ being pushed repeatedly

As per the reports, Ranveer had come on board for the film and Farhan wanted to start it immediately after ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ (2023). However, Ranveer had given dates to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Baiju Bawra’ and had already begun look preparations for that film. After that, Prasanth Varma’s project gathered momentum and ‘Don 3’ was again pushed from the actor’s side. Ranveer Singh later informed the production house about his plans to prioritise Aditya Dhar’s ‘Dhurandhar’. He felt that after a string of non-successful films, this particular project had the potential to elevate his standing with audiences and his coming on board as Don afterward would better position the franchise. Once Dhurandhar picked up momentum, Ranveer backed out of Don 3 on December 20, 2025, just three weeks before the film was scheduled to go on floors.

Ranveer Singh to now focus on the upcoming project ‘Pralay’

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is reportedly gearing up to shift his focus to his upcoming project ‘Pralay’, with the shoot expected to kick off very soon.

Excel Entertainment seeks Rs 40-45 crore in damages

Reportedly, Excel Entertainment sought damages worth Rs 40-45 crore from Ranveer over alleged losses incurred during pre-production, which led to the matter being escalated first to the Producers Guild of India and subsequently to FWICE. FWICE chief advisor Ashoke Pandit revealed that Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani had approached the body, stating that significant investments had already been made into the project, including overseas recce trips, hotel bookings and logistical arrangements for a crew of over 200 people. Pandit further alleged that Ranveer had signed a three-film deal with Excel Entertainment and had actively participated in script discussions as well as the announcement shoot. The controversy soon stirred up debate among industry bodies, with CINTAA president Poonam Dhillon weighing in and stating that “banning is a strong word for a hardworking actor” and arguing that the actors’ association should have been consulted before any non-cooperation call was issued.
