Breaking: Eid-ul-Adha prayers offered across India as devotees gather at mosques in major cities

Eid-ul-Adha, popularly known as Bakrid, is being celebrated across India with religious devotion and community gatherings. Early in the morning, large numbers of people from the Muslim community gathered at mosques and Eidgahs in several cities to offer special prayers marking the occasion. Visuals from Delhi showed devotees assembling at the historic Jama Masjid for Eid prayers. People dressed in traditional attire were seen greeting each other after the prayers and exchanging festive wishes. Similar scenes were witnessed in Mumbai, where worshippers gathered at local mosques in different parts of the city to participate in the celebrations. In Bhopal as well, people attended morning prayers in large numbers, reflecting the spirit of unity and faith associated with the festival. Authorities in multiple cities remained on alert to ensure smooth celebrations and maintain public order during the festive gatherings. Security arrangements were strengthened around major religious sites considering the large crowds expected during the festival. Eid-ul-Adha holds deep religious significance in Islam and commemorates the spirit of sacrifice, compassion, and devotion. Families traditionally come together for prayers, charitable activities, and community meals during the festival. Across the country, markets and neighborhoods witnessed festive enthusiasm as people celebrated the occasion with relatives and friends. Despite the heightened security presence in several urban centers, celebrations remained peaceful during the morning prayer gatherings. Police and local administrations coordinated traffic and crowd management around key mosques and prayer sites to facilitate smooth movement for devotees. The festival continues to bring together communities in a spirit of harmony, prayer, and celebration, with greetings and charitable acts forming an important part of the day’s observances across India.
