1 Killed As Blast Rocks Pakistan’s Cricket Stadium, Children Among Injured

An explosion at Kausar Cricket Ground killed one and injured several, including children. No group has claimed responsibility yet.

At least one person was killed and several others sustained injuries in an explosion at a Cricket stadium in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday, police said.

It is learnt that the blast occurred while a match was being played in the stadium.

According to news agency PTI, the explosion was reported at Kausar Cricket Ground in Khar tehsil of Bajaur district.

Bajaur District Police Officer Waqas Rafique said that the explosion was carried out through an improvised explosive device, the Dawn newspaper reported.

Children were among the injured, police said.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. So far, nobody has taken responsibility for the blast. More details are awaited.
