Politics: PM Modi Pushes Faster Governance, Reform Agenda at Key Ministers’ Review Meeting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level Council of Ministers meeting at Seva Teerth in Delhi, where the government’s performance, ministry-wise progress, and long-term development agenda were reviewed in detail. The meeting lasted for nearly four-and-a-half hours and focused on accelerating governance, improving coordination among ministries, and ensuring faster execution of public welfare projects. During the review session, PM Modi stressed that the vision of “Viksit Bharat 2047” is not merely a slogan but a national commitment and a concrete roadmap for transforming India into a fully developed nation by 2047. He instructed ministers to ensure that files do not remain pending unnecessarily and emphasized the need for quick decision-making and time-bound implementation of policies. The Prime Minister also called for stronger focus on reforms, simplification of governance processes, and reducing bureaucratic delays. Ministers were asked to actively connect with citizens and communicate the achievements and developmental work carried out by the government over the last twelve years. At the same time, PM Modi urged ministers not to remain focused on comparisons with previous governments but to concentrate on improving future performance and delivery. Several ministries, including Agriculture, Forest, Labour, Road Transport, External Affairs, Commerce, and Power, presented detailed reports and performance reviews during the meeting. Ministries showing weaker progress were directed to improve efficiency, speed up pending work, and strengthen implementation mechanisms. PM Modi also advised ministers to avoid unnecessary disputes and remain focused on developmental priorities and public service delivery. The meeting is being viewed as a significant governance review ahead of upcoming national policy milestones.
