Sanjay travels to the US for check-up years after cancer recovery

Years after being declared cancer-free, Sanjay Dutt heads to Los Angeles for annual health check-up: Report

Sanjay Dutt, who has been maintaining a packed work schedule across multiple film industries, recently travelled to the United States for what is believed to be his routine annual medical examination. The actor’s health continues to remain a matter of public interest ever since he battled stage 4 lung cancer in 2020.The 66-year-old actor had shocked fans and the film fraternity in August 2020 after being diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. Concern around his health escalated after he reportedly experienced breathlessness and fluid build-up in his lungs. Following intensive treatment under some of Mumbai’s leading oncologists, Sanjay was declared cancer-free within months, in October 2020, bringing immense relief to his family and well-wishers.Reports at the time had suggested that the actor had also obtained a five-year US medical visa to seek further consultation from doctors at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. The hospital holds emotional significance for the Dutt family as Sanjay’s late mother, veteran star Nargis Dutt, had undergone treatment there during her own battle with cancer in the early ’80s.

Sanjay Dutt reportedly consulting specialists in Los Angeles

According to Free Press Journal, Sanjay travelled to the US last week soon after wrapping up a promotional event for his latest film, Aakhri Sawaal, which released on May 15. The actor is currently believed to be in Los Angeles along with his close friend Paresh Ghelani. While earlier trips reportedly involved consultations with specialists in New York, this visit is said to include medical opinions from experts based in California as well. Those close to the actor shared, “Sanjay has been travelling to the US regularly over the last few years for his routine medical evaluations. This visit is also part of that process. He is doing well physically. His complete travel plans are not known yet, and he may also head to the East Coast.” Despite speculation surrounding the visit, those close to the actor insist there is no immediate cause for concern and that the trip is part of his continued post-recovery health monitoring. However, Sanjay Dutt is yet to officially confirm the details of his visit to the US or whether it is related to his health condition.
