Darshan Thoogudeepa meets wife Vijayalakshmi and son in Jail; Emotional Kannada actor DID NOT eat friuits brought by family

Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa is fighting the murder case of Renukaswamy in court, and recent happenings are said to have affected him mentally. After the Supreme Court dealt a blow to his bail petition, Darshan eagerly awaited his meeting with family members inside the jail premises. Permission was subsequently granted for an internal meeting with his wife and son. Reports claim the emotional reunion left the actor and his family in tears.

Emotional reunion leaves Darshan in tears

According to News 18, Darshan became emotional the moment his wife and son entered the meeting area. The actor reportedly hugged them tightly and broke down in tears. His wife and son were also said to have become emotional during the meeting. Reports further stated that Vijayalakshmi Darshan had requested special permission for the family meeting through senior officials, and Darshan himself had also submitted a request through jail authorities. The meeting finally took place on May 19 under the supervision of prison officials and CCTV monitoring.

A wedding anniversary wish brings a brief smile to Darshan

During the meeting, Darshan reportedly spent time talking closely with his son Vineesh and even smiled for a short while during their conversation. Reports stated that Vijayalakshmi wished her husband on their wedding anniversary while holding his hand, and Darshan responded warmly. Apart from his wife and son, his manager Nagaraju and another woman were also present during the interaction. The meeting reportedly happened in the presence of an additional superintendent inside the prison barracks. Only fruits were allowed to be brought inside for the actor during the visit.

Darshan turns silent again after the family visit

After the meeting ended, reports claim that Darshan Thoogudeepa returned to silence inside his barrack. He reportedly appeared deeply upset and avoided speaking much, even with fellow inmates. It is also reported that he did not eat the fruits brought by his family and instead kept them aside in his cupboard. Officials are closely monitoring the actor’s condition, especially after claims that he has been mentally affected following the rejection of his bail plea. Discussions regarding his next legal steps were also believed to have taken place during the emotional family meeting.

Darshan remains in jail after bail cancellation

Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa is presently in jail following the murder of Renukaswamy in 2024, where he was named the main accused in the case. According to reports, the murder case arose due to the sending of some objectionable messages on social media by the victim to actress Pavithra Gowda, who is reportedly close to Darshan.
