Varun Dhawan apologised to a fan who waited five hours at a Lucknow promotional event for ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’, only for him to leave after five minutes. The actor explained he was asked to leave early by the cops. The film releases on June 5.

Varun Dhawan and Mrunal Thakur visited Lucknow’s Phoenix Mall to promote their upcoming film ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’, which also stars Pooja Hegde and releases on June 5. The visit drew a huge crowd, with hundreds of fans arriving hours early, eager to glimpse the stars. Videos of the massive turnout have since gone viral on social media.

However, not everyone left the event smiling. A female fan voiced her disappointment on social media after waiting nearly five hours to meet Varun and get his autograph, only for the actor to spend about five minutes at the venue. Her post, “We waited for 5 hours and he came for just 5 min,” quickly caught Varun’s eye and prompted a response.

Varun addressed the fan’s disappointment and quickly apologized in the comments. Shedding light on why he left abruptly, the actor explained: “Sorry, I couldn’t give an autograph; we were made to leave a lil early by the cops.”

‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ to release on June 5

‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai,’ directed by David Dhawan, is all set to arrive in cinemas on June 5, 2026. The film marks yet another exciting father-son collaboration, being David and Varun’s fourth project together after ‘Main Tera Hero, Judwaa 2’ and ‘Coolie No. 1’. Adding to the excitement, the film’s trailer is set to drop on May 21.
