Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s romantic drama Param Sundari has brought cheer to both stars as the film crossed the Rs 30 crore mark within just four days of release. The film, which opened decently on Friday, showed healthy growth across its opening weekend before slowing down on Monday. With its current total standing at Rs 30.25 crore, Param Sundari has officially overtaken Ittefaq to become his 10th highest-grossing film in Hindi cinema.Ittefaq was a modern re-telling of Yash Chopra’s 1969 hit film by the same name which starred Rajesh Khanna, Nanda and Bindu. The 2017 version featured Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha and Akshaye Khanna; the film earned Rs 30.21 crore at the ticket window. The 4-Day JourneyParam Sundari, powered by the fresh pairing of Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, began its run with a respectable Rs 7.25 crore on Friday. Strong word of mouth, especially for the chemistry between the lead duo, helped the film jump to Rs 9.25 crore on Saturday (a 27.59% rise). The momentum carried into Sunday with collections peaking at Rs 10.25 crore, marking its best day yet. Monday saw a sharp dip, as expected for new releases, with earnings dropping to Rs 3.50 crore. Still, the four-day total of Rs 30.25 crore was enough to push it past Ittefaq.
